STATISTICAL OFFICER
The Council has a vacancy for a Statistical Officer who will join a small team monitoring global grain and oilseed developments. He or she will contribute to the organisation’s analytical and market information work
Reporting to a senior analyst, the successful candidate will assist with the collection and entering of grains statistics, prepare weekly updates of published tables and manage trade data files. He/she will also be responsible for updating information on grain sales, assisting with the preparation of various weekly/monthly/annual spreadsheet tables and , maintaining and enhancing the trade data library. The candidate will also assist with the entry of food aid shipments data.
Applicants should be educated to secondary level, with good results, and have a relevant additional qualification, which may include a recognised statistical or bookkeeping diploma, or similar.
He/she will be highly numerate, precise and able to demonstrate very good IT skills, including the advanced use of Excel spreadsheets and databases. The candidate should have at least one year’s experience in data management in a relevant area and be able to work and communicate well within a small team of market analysts
